Or dare I say Good and Evil? John Adams had it right when he said that the Constitution is for a moral and religious people only. With out a moral compass we will head down the path to Socialism and ruin. When Bill Clinton was having sex in the oval office Conservatives were told "he is a President, not a boy scout. Well maybe we need a boy scout. Where is the honor that America was built on? COME ON AMERICA WAKE UP!!!

Politics is not about morality, as much as the religious right would like you to believe.

It is about re-election and the power that derives from holding office ... whether Democrat or Republican.

There has been no honor in politics since the two parties forgot about what ideologies separated them ... and discovered how important "hot buttons' were. Now ... that's all political discourse is ... "hot buttons" and "sound bites".

Neither party cares about public service, right & wrong, morality or society in general. They care about power ... getting it and keeping it.

The Democrat party is controlled by the most liberal of the populace (about 20%) and the GOP is controlled by about the same percentage of the most conservative voters.

The 60% of us in the middle are forced to choose between two bad choices in virtually every election.

Men and women of conviction can't get the nomination of EITHER party to run for anything ... they have to sell their souls to get the nod. Thus ... the crapola we have running for office today.

Oh common...America wasn't built on honor. Why do people have this 1950's ideal that America was all happy and wonderfull and honorable.

We're talking about a nation founded by men who were preaching about freedom. Real interesting coming from a group of white male slave owners.

"all men created equal" Ya except for indians and blacks and women right?

America is not an easy idea. To be free is hard work. The founding fathers new that things change and the constitution had to be dynamic.

Maybe we do need a boy scout...or maybe an idealist who isn't full of hot air but actually believes what they say.

"I must not write a word to you about politics, because you are a woman. " John Adams

Morality never had a place in politics. By the way John Adams never made that comment.....it was John Quincy Adams.
And who told conservatives that "he is a president"? Where is the source for this?
The presidency is not a man it's an institution which is protected by all means possible by both democrats and republicans. You truly have no sense whatsoever of American history. Right and Wrong are subjective to begin with and therefore are just illusions for mankind (governments) to take advantage of situations in the name of morality. And why do you continue to operate from a platform to separate America. Un fuc king believable. And you wonder why people (like in your other question) compare you to Rush Limbaugh?
COME ON ETHAN WAKE UP!!!!

P.S. Bravo Jenfleur.....great comment.

There is no such thing as morality in politics. The question to be asked is whose morality? Yours or mine? Maybe my morals might be immoral to you and vice versa.

If you pick Mitch Romney as president you would get nothing but brilliance and high integrity and morality. Just a suggestion

There is no such thing as morailty in plitics. Politicians are more concerned about getting into office than they do about the people.

I do agree with you and I like your comments very very much.

Good point...we should follow morals of the christian faith, yes? Like the priests and how they behaved with the altar boys? Is THAT what you call morality?

My take on politics & polititians in general: they are whores. They would sell their grandmother for a vote. And once elected their ONLY agenda is getting re-elected. As soon as you understand that, it really doesn't matter.
