and shouldnt we meet them half way? How hard is it to look before you sit, and if it's up, put the seat down?
I think I am the only woman who has ever thought this way.. at least, i have never MET another person who has thought this..

i have fallen into the toilet.. and i thought it was my own stupidity for not looking. (considering that i am the one who says that i'll meet them half way with the toilet seat flipping..)

The reason most women want men to put the seat down is that it is a way of getting men to show some consideration of the woman's needs. It is not a question of fairness. The whole point is that the man has to take the trouble to put the seat up to take care of his needs and then put it back down to show how much he considers her needs. It is one of those chivalry things, like opening the car door, or helping her on with her coat.

I've never really been that anal about wether the seat is up or down. I do prefer that the guy put it down. My toilet seat is the same color as the toilet bowl and the lid- so it's not the easiest to see. As for the 'they did the work to put it up'- it's not hard to put down, gravity does most of the work. Also, considering that all they have to do most of the time is unzip, I don't see how the extra second will hurt.

Putting the seat down has nothing to do with using the toilet. It is for sanitary reasons with the seat down the place does not stink as bad - traps the gases LOL

Because both men and woman use the toilet seat in the down postion. Besides when you flush, bacteria can actually be sprayed out. It is a sanitary issue really.

Well i sometimes get pissed off when my husband use the toilet. He always put the toilet seat up. When i use it i just yelled at him from the toilet telling him why he always put the toilet seat up. But that's how men is when they peed they always put the seat up. I just can't help myself getting mad when i see the toilet seat up. It makes me mad because i always have to put down the seat before i pee.

I dont understand why I have to touch the toilet seat that everyone sits on just because he has to put it up and is too lazy to bring it back down. It doesn't belong up. Dont men need it down to sh*t.

Personally, I always put it down, but I agree with your line of thinking. If a woman can't remember to put it down herself, why get mad at a man for not remembering?
