Yes. But add a $20,000 tax onto the price of a new car and add $40,000 to the price of a new SUV and the price of gas will go down. When an average car costs $60,000 it will eventually change driving habits.

Most definitely yes. The reason being that natural commoditites like oil from which gas (petrol) is made is running out. Numerous oil wells have run dry and had to close down. Therefore supply and demand indicates the prices will rise.
The only way we will get out of this mess is for people to start working increasingly hard on alternative transport power.

Of course. The law of supply and demand. We have a set amount of oil on this earth. We keep using more each year and China is just getting started.
Without an alternate source of power we will be spending more on gas than the cars we drive.

yea its probably going to hit 4 bucks sometime this summer. with the conflict in the middle east and high demands for gas this summer with everyone driving a van or suv.
