My cycles are somewhat irregular, so I try to chart by cervical fluid. I had intercourse the day that the fluid went from egg white to scant and thick/white. Was the egg still being released or had it likely died by this point?

if I were you, I would just have intercourse everyday for one month, that should do the trick.....or just get drunk, that seems to work for everyone else, haha.
also I have heard that you can get pregnant even when on your period, so just don't stress about becoming pregnant, and let your body do all the work.

If your cycles are irregular, it would probably save you some stress if you would make an appointment with your ob/gyn. She can help you with all the technical details involving pregnancy. I don't know how long you've been trying to conceive, or how old you are, but if you're in your twenties, I wouldn't stress too much about it. However, it's always a good idea to check with your doctor that everything is in working order "down there" ;), just to make sure your pregnancy begins on a healthy note.

I am not completely sure, but if you talk to a doctor and ask what they recommend to do they may tell you to take hormone pills. It help release multiple eggs so you have a better chance to get pregnant.

Your egg might have been released that day or the day after, was it pretty strechy? if it was that's the best you are going to get, so don't worry it sounds like you did it right.
