without knowing what state you are in it is hard to say. But the safest place would be to go to a hospital ER and give the baby to a nurse with a note that you are giving up your baby. I know in several states they have laws that if you give the baby up like this it is OK. But before you do this are you sure? Because it would be really hard to get a baby back once you give it up. I would recommend you call social services also and see if they could help. Let them know you are having a hard time handling being a parent and want to give the baby up. They will help you.

There is a law that you can leave your baby no questions asked if you leave him/her healthy, warm, and notify someone,a lady here in Tampa left her baby but did not tell anyone and the baby was found dead in the morning, she is being charged with murder. You can leave the baby at any fire station, hospital or clinic, and no elderly people they are usually not able to care for a baby, put the baby where he/she can be treated medically especially with continuous crying, there could be a problem!p.sIf you are serious do the baby a favor and give him to someone who will love him and care for him,and seek help!

Ouch! You must be a young mother.I think if you really wanted to give up your baby you wouldn't have bothered to ask! Being a mother is trying especially if you have to do it by yourself. It is ok to be frustrated you are only human, if you have made sure he doesn't need anything and he is not colicy, then put him is his crib and make yourself take a break(crying helps devolope their lungs). If you are sure not keeping him is right for you, then there are SAFE place to take him.Place that will not ask any questions,a sign for the safe drop off should be posted at like a hospital or firedepartment, or you may go to a social worker and ask for adoption(open adoption would allow you to still see your baby).Good Luck to both of you!!!

I hope to God your not serious. But if you are contact a local adoption agency, DO NOT just abandon the child. Or contact a local church. Abandoning the child will not only be bad for the child but you will get in trouble as well. Ask your family for help or your friends. Have someone watch the child for a day or two to give you a break.
If you have tried food and tried rocking and tried changing diaper and anything else the child likes. Have you tried taking the child to a doctor to see if it needs medical attention. it could just be the child is sick and needs help.

Most states like Illinois have laws to protect people in your situation to where you can bring a baby to a hospital and you won't be in trouble or abandoning them at all. Personally, I'll take your baby to help you for awhile but I don't know where you live. It really sounds like you just need a little respite not to really abandon your baby. Call a church nearby, talk to a pastor and ask for someone to come and help you for awhile. Chances are if they have half a heart of compassion they will help you. Feel free to e-mail me. Drop baby off on my doorstep, I'm totally willing to help. lisaclara@yahoo.com. It's hard to be a mom without having alot of help!

Absolutely not. Do not abandon your child. If you cannot care for him, take him to child protective services or contact an adoption agency. By no means should you leave your child in a hospital lobby or someone's door step. The child needs immediate care and attention and it could be several hours before he is found if you abandon him. Please think rationally before making a stupid decision that could harm your innocent child.

It depends on your state laws.
In Chicago, IL there's an amnisty law where a baby can legally be abandoned at a hospital, police station or fire station without legal retrobution taken against the parent for abandonment.

there is a program that will allow you to drop a baby off anonymously , no questions asked at ANY hospital or fire station. But, I gotta ask, if you weren't ready to accept the responsibilities of parenthood, why did you have the baby to begin with? Babies CRY..that's what they DO!
