im trying to decide what i want for a career and im having trouble deciding.

Well I'm not going to cloud your head with national statistics or anything like that, I'll just give you the straight poop on my area (southwest Virginia). EMT-Bs can expect anywhere from $9 to $13 an hour with the most prominent company offering $12/hr to new EMTs. EMT-Ps can expect anywhere from $13 to $17 an hour with that same company offering $16/hr to new NREMT-Ps. These rates are for standard field providers not managers or supervisors which make considerably more.

EMT as in hospital? Yeah it's good. EMT as in "EMT kiddie rides", yeah I think that's good too. *neigh!!!!* Ride the horsie!

It's okay, but generally not great, especially the funky shifts and working holidays, etc.

It is very rewarding though. good luck
