Until your body decides that you're done, you can have kids. Most women are fertile until ~45 yrs old.

As you get older, the risk of chromosomal problems like Down syndrome increase. For example, at 30, 1 woman in 700 has a baby with Down syndrome, and at 35 the risk is 1/300. By 40 the risk is ~1/100, and at 45 the risk is ~1/20. These are the big concerns with maternal age.

Good luck!

I believe it is after 35 b/t 35 and 40 where there is a much higher risk of the baby coming out w/ down syndrome b/c of that extra chromosome. I wouldnt worry about being 30 yrs. old and having a baby. But later on down the road, I definately wouldn't risk it. I've know a few woman who have had babies around the mid-thirties and the babies devoloped down syndrome. I think you would be okay though.

I was in my late thirties with my first child, and I had my second when I was forty. Both are healthy, beautiful children and both pregnancies were without any difficulties. That said, it becomes more difficult to become pregnant in your thirties and after because there aren't as many viable eggs as when you're in your twenties. Also, your ability to have a healthy pregnancy depends on your physical well being now. If you're even considering getting pregnant, no more alcohol, no smoking, no drugs (prescription or recreational) and let your system clear itself of all of that bad stuff for at least a couple of months. Also, start increasing your intake of folic acid (found in most breakfast cereals these days) and eat a healthy, well balanced diet-the same as if you were "eating for two".

Good luck!

Since when did 30 become too old to have children??? I am 30 , have 3 children and I am planning on having another one in a few years. If you were 40 you might be concerned but not at 30. I had my first at 18 and let me tell you the older you are the more patience you have and the better prepared you are to care for a child. As long as you are healthy GO FOR IT!!! Good luck...

You know, I always wanted kids young. I wanted to be done by the time I was thirty. I had my son at 27.

Looking back, I am so glad I was not younger when I had him. I would not have been able to handle it emotionally or financially. I am going to be 30 in 2 months & we're just starting to talk about having another. .

I think being around 30 is a good time to start. :)

As long as you're still have regular periods and your healthy then you should still be able to conceive..Although the rate of pregnancy decreases as you get older because you have less eggs to shed..
You see the difference between a 40 year old and a 20 year old is that she would say have 1000 eggs and a 40 year old would have about 100?
I mean its not really that but its like that to equation..
I suggest you speak with a doctor and discuss this with him or her..
Good Luck!

If your asking if you can have a baby after 30, then the answer is yes. My mom DID have children before she had my new little sister. But the main thing they check isn't if you've had one before, but what condition you are in, if you are able too and so forth. Get that checked out
Most people say before thirty, but there have been several cases where people have had children later then that.

More like after 35 there may/might be complications. Generally though the age a woman can still have a child safely has been on the rise. Just be sure that you monitor your pregnancy and take care of yourself and the unborn child. PEACE!

of course it's ok to have your first child after 30. Shoot i'm 31 and very healthy, never had kids but looking forward to it at some point. I'm not worried about my age, wouldnt be till forty i guess. As long as your menstuating you can get pregnant. My aunt had her first at 38 no problems whatsoever, her second a couple of years after that and they are all very healthy, mom and kids both.

Are you asking if it's ok to have a baby after thirty?

Yeah, I'd think so. I'm hoping to have another one someday...I'm 30. But it wouldn't be my first. It would be my 3rd child. And as long as your healthy and your docter or health care professional is ok with it.
