As you can only be considered for a job in this hotel chain if you have experience in "Fidelio" it is catch 22 as I don't know of any other hotel companies that use this system.

Fidelio, by Micros Systems is a hotel PMS (No, not that time of the month thing; Property Management Software). It is the software that allows hotels to run themselves, (Ussually bigger hotels).

From Reservation, Check-in, Check-out and cleaning, it enables hotels to control their bedrooms, sell effectively, maintain their rooms and produce info about how the hotel is doing (Reports etc)

The only way really to learn it is to work in a hotel where they are willing to teach you how to use it. Its relatively easy to learn, and if you know how to use other computer hotel systems, it makes it easier.

So option 1, apply to the hotel saying you do not have Fidelio experience, but in another hotel, you used XYZ software or something like that. It will help your application better than nothing at all.

Now I am really dipping into History. Long time ago, when I started in hotels, I was just out of school and didn't even know Fidelio was a clussical musical peice. The hotel taught me how to use Fidelio, and now I am a Fidelio Master, Though I do say so myself.

Since I knew how to use Fid., It was easy to change to other PMS's, and move up the hotel ladder.

The bottom line is that job ads are worded to list their perfect requirements, but the employers ussually consider adjusting these to match the responses they get and provide training on the gaps.

Also, not all hotels need people with prior Fidelio Knowledge (or any other PMS). Some consider people with no hotel experience to join them and work their way up.

Lastly, It is not so much about wether or not you match the requirements, it is about convincing the employer, (This goes for any job) that they need you in their staff. Sell yourself to them, and make them want you.

I wish you the best of luck in moving through out your hotel Career, and you do pursue it as it is a challenging environment to work in, and is not just confined to a building with bedrooms.

Fidelio is a software that is used in the hospitality industry. Usually the only place you learn it is by working somewhere.
I dont know if they do courses, but the contact for them is info@micros.com

Fidelio is proprietary software used in the hospitality industry. See here: http://www.micros.com/Industries/HotelsAndResorts/

Unfortunately, this is among the types of software that you're only going to learn by working in the industry or by studying hospitality management in school.
