Papaver,
(My favorite plant, by the way) Trust, is the most rare and precious commodity on earth, next to true love. Actually, it is the foundation of love. When a person reveals to you that you cannot depend on them to be honest with you, walk away, and don't turn around. Why burden yourself with someone who cares so little for the well being of others?

Will Rogers said, "The income tax has made liars out of more Americans than golf. "
Everyone lies at some point. But the motivation and purpose for a lie is key.
To tell a lie is to bend the truth, to decieve someone means to intentionally benefit yourself at their expense. That's what busts the trust in my book.

There's no such thing as an "honest liar." I don't trust people who tell everyone they're liars, if that's what you mean.
I don't believe lying is right, but I do think everyone does it to some degree every so often.
