What you would need to do is use some on a patch and use for for few weeks to see if the plants or grass survive the detergent in the water.

What a wonderful idea to recycle water... I doubt it will do any harm. I wash my car on the lawn all the time with soapy water and the grass is fine. Watch out for bleach!

on one of my houses the septic system was marginal so i hooked a drain from the washer to my( rose garden,) in the back yard, the roses loved it that was 1990 and there fine . AND SO is THE SEPTIC TANK. the wash water reduces the natural bacteria in the system.

I don't think it is a good idea for a vegtable garden but regular flowers garden or lawn is fine. I used to use my gray water on my lawn all the time.

Soap makes water wetter, which means it is more available to your plants. Bleach wouldnt be the best idea, though. of course city officials might see a problem with it, but i dont see why they would. its your yard and all. just dont let the water over run into neighbors or city ground.

Why not it's done all the time. The pot ash in the soap is actually a fertilizer plus the water is used a secind time.

My neighbors do it all the time, their plants don't ever seem to suffer for it. The have ornamental cherry trees, pansies, marigolds, tulips and petunias growing.
I don't think they do the bleach loads on it though, just the regular cold water wash.

i would not chance it as there will be some type of bleaching agent in the powder,i could be wrong but i personally would not use it .washing up water however is good for roses.

It'll more than likely lead to you killing your plants, the chemicals in the detergent won't do much good for them.
