Bill Clinton's actions in the white house were just enough to push a few moderates over the fence, the same way Bush's will push them the other way.

Usually by dividing the American people over such issues as gays, guns, God, and abortion. They scare people and try to capitalize on fear. The average American voter does not look into issues too deeply and the Republicans are experts at the "soundbite" type of campaigning. You do notice that amoung the most educated people in this country the democrates usually get the majority of votes. The Republicans also like to mention 9/11 as much as possible to keep the American people in fear. What a terrible way to live.

Ironic, though that the core democrat constituents today represent what is most shallow and superficial in America and produce the loathsome materialistic "culture" that the rest of the world loves to associate with America and use as a cause of hatred. He blows a great number of money on male prostitutes and they stay luckily ever after portraying themselves because the proper celeb couple. In a nutshell, they don't quite help democrats or republicans beliefs. They help their personal conduct.
