I doubt that the Marlins would take this deal, but I would trade Kevin Mench, Joaquin Benoit, either John Koronka or John Rheinecker, Thomas Diamond and Joaquin Arias for Willis. To me, that's a pretty reasonable trade and it doesn't completely kill either team. The Rangers would get a solid #1 or #2 out of Willis, and the Marlins would get a decent corner outfielder (Mench), above average middle reliever (Benoit), a decent #4 type starter that could blossom into a #2 or #3 (Koronka or Rheinecker), a recent first round pick (Diamond) and a solid infielder that most scouts rate as one of the most prospects in the game (Arias). The biggest stumbling block to any trade involving Willis is the fact that he's under "club contol" until 2009, which I believe means that he can't become a free agent until then, so it would seem foolish for the Marlins to trade away one of their only marketable players...

The Rangers don't normally make good moves when it comes to the trade deadline. I would be surprised if this year will be any different.
