In my opinion, what you need is a good Nissan such as an Altima or a Maxima. You are good to go with gas mileage being approximately 23 miles per gallon in the city and 29 mpg on the highway with an estimated annual cost of only about $900 whereas cars with larger engines burn fuel faster and it costs you more. the Altima would cost you about $19,000- a little over $27,000, but the Maxima will cost you at least $28,000 if what you are looking for is a truck or SUV you could get something like a Mitsubishi Raider which starts at around $25,000 or a Ford Freestyle for about $26,000, but keep in mind that Trucks and SUVs don't have as good fuel efficiency...
I hope this might can help you! also try looking at places like:

if you are just driving a norma try the hybrid prius from toyota. lots of advantage, its quiet, lots of cargo space, with the back seat folded you can easily put a bike, smart key system- (where you dont need to grab your key from your pocket to start the car) , back up camera, carpool access, good milage, free parking in some metropolitan area streets like los angeles, discount on toll lane and if you like you can get the naviation system. the middle package will cost you about $25,000. its a great car. i say the best choice for a hybrid because some hybrid dont quaify for carpool access and some does not have enough cargo space. this car is from reliable company. and one of the important features... does not produce much pollution therefore helping make the world a cleaner place.

You must buy a B M W. They go on for ever if properley looked after and will stand the hard word.
Golden rules. Never buy without a service history and good owners . Lots of owners means lots of boy racers with big hammers.

Best by is rear wheel drive, Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis, comfortable, 24 to 30 mpg highway.
Most people won't buy them because they claim its for old people.

For safety, looks and reasonable mileage try an Audi or Volvo sedan. Both of these makers have models that now look Real sharp!

I drive a BMW 316i SE 1.9L - if you squint at my pic you can sort of make it out!! It cost me £7,995 (about $14,600) when there was only 76,000 miles on it. So why don't you go for a really good second-hand car instead of an average new car?
