I HATE CLUTTER!!
how you can prevent clutter from returning, forever. If you are tired of sorting, wondering how you accumulated so much "stuff,"??lol

When you have a clean room...You have a clear mind.

One of my own secrets for reducing clutter involves giving away things to charity and consistently going through my house to find things I don't use anymore. I think if you take one room or one closet at a time, it is much easier to deal with clutter. I also find that putting a pile of unrelated items in the middle of a room makes it easier to decide what you don't need.
I know it's hard sometimes to let go of some things. But think real hard about why you want it there, and it's purpose it will serve you. Or if you can make up your mind. just get it out of the way and put it into storage somewhere...Out of sight.

Do I really need to put some things in storage? YES
Will removing clutter lower my stress level? YES YES YES!!!

good luck!!! Hope this helped. I could use 10 points. hehe

I am a huge pack rat and when I moved in with my now hubby, we had to condense 2 full houses into one. where we live we are able to burn our garbage (thankfully)
Our bedroom was a TOTAL disaster. It was used as a storage and a sleeping room.. Anyway, we went through everything, bought a huge box of garbage bags and just started throwing stuff out... I know we probably should have donated alot of it, but I am I tend to put things off and would never have taken them down, so we chucked everything. and had on hell of a burn fire. I think that is the best way to do it. basically if you haven't opened a box or wore a piece of clothing in a year get rid of it.

Designate certain things for certain places. For example, only shirts go in the top drawer, shorts/pants in the second, underwear in third, etc. Everytime you move something to use it then put it back in that exact same place as soon as you use it. If you have clothes you haven't worn in more than five years cluttering your space then get rid of them. Donate them to the salvation army or goodwill and use it as a tax deductible item. Also it is useful to get the stackable crates to put items in, and just remember to stay organized is a daily process. Don't let things get out of order even a little or it will build up.

get all your stuff that is making your room untidy and make piles one pile with things that you really need or can not be with out. the other pile is things that you don't really need. then go back though the pile that you don't really need and say to your self when was the last time I have used this if its been say (set your self a real goal) and make a time and then if you have not used/need it say 3 mth or more. then you prop don't really need it. Then make another pile and toss out. then go back though the first pile and do the same again. but make sure the toss out pile gets tossed out.

also there are great storage box's and things around these day's when you have the things you really need then use storage systems of some sort go shopping you will find something that suits you. But be true to your self and DE CLUTTER.

I have shelves built(4 shelves) in to my wall on the first shelf I put my stereo, DVD's, tapes, Cd's... but below that shelf I have a trunk on top of the truck is a tv, dvd/vcr player and in it I have an assortment of things I use rarely then the second self I have books on the third shelf I have things from foreign places(a hand drum from Jamaica, guards from England...) and the top shelf is decorations.

To help organize, throw away things you don't need, childish books, clothes you never wear, or just any junk you may have. in your closet hang dresses, skirts, pants, nice shirts... then in the back of your closet you can put in shelves or stacking boxes to put all of your shoes in. In your dresser(if you have 3 shelves) use say the top draw for underwear, pajamas, socks and if you are a girl stockings/hosiery. In the second draw, short sleeved shirts/tank tops and shorts. And in the 3rd draw put long sleeved shirts, sweat pants and sweat pants. On top of your dresser you can put make-up, perfume/cologne, jewelry(in a jewelry box) and pictures.

If you have a night stand you can put things that don't have a place to go and hair brushes/hair stuff. And remember once or twice a year go threw your stuff and clean it out. I hope this helps! Good Luck.

P.S. you can but those shoe boxes or any containers at the Container Store or at Wal-Mart

Try to keep contents to a minimum, other than that it simply requires hard work - every day! Whenever you you use something, put it back in its 'home', fold clothes and put in wardrobe when they enter your room e.t.c.
It requires a little more effort constantly, and loads of self-control and I still can't make a habit of it yet! But at least you won't have to give your room a major overhall quiote so often!

Vigilence and perceverence and the key words here!

Use every sq. inch of your closet if possible. Use lots of baskets and storage containers. Try those vaccum bags for big items and seasonal stuff and you can keep them under the bed. Get rid of things you havent used in a year or two. Remember to use vertical space, shelves, book cases, etc. Well thats about all I have. Hope it helps you out.
