People have a tendency to think that they are perfect. "I'm smart, I look good, I have this or that. I'm normal and everyone else is nuts. I would have done a better job of raising me than my parents."
It's all typical self centered B.S.. People with that attitude would love to fill the world with people that walk, talk, think, and act like they do. Those are the people that would love to see clones of themselves.

Now Clone research shouldn't be about cloning a whole person, it should be about cloning parts. People with liver decease could get a new liver without having to take transfusion medicines for the rest of their lives, if they have a liver grown from their own DNA. The same could go for heart decease and other problems. Being able to clone just a part or organ would be a great boom for mankind. However, to get to that point, we are going to have to start by learning how to clone whole people.

I think that it is one of those things that is fascinating and accomplished scientists must be champing at the bit to clone a human. I think they passed an international law that makes it illegal but there must be some mad scientist gut out there doing it in his basement. It seems possible so I guess it's one of those things that they just want to try out, but of course there are major ethical issues and the potential for people to use the technology for evil is very scary. I'm sure there will be reasons in the future that will mean that cloning is a good thing but I don't know what they are just yet.

A reason to have a clone: if you did something bad he would have same DNA. To have that twin bond that regular siblings do not have.
Not to: if HE did something bad they might catch YOU. God creates everyone in their own special way. It would be weird to think we could make a factory production line of little Hitlers

Lets say You have a terminal kidney disease, and You need a transplant, but there is no donor for Your specific blood-tissue type... No one in the world is a match for You (that can be found, that is)... this is where a clone would be pretty handy.

I would send my clone to work for me while I stayed home. I could also use the clone for spare body parts.
Heart, lungs, kidney, liver, etc.

I would do it. I imagine it would be like having a twin.
