ok, someone said they'd be able to tell what kinda thinker i am by asking me this one question. they asked 'is the glass half full or half empty?' i replyed 'well it depends, if the glass was empty and was then filled up half way then i would say the glass is half full because it was in the process of being full. if the glass was full and someone drank half of it, then i would say the glass is half emtpy because it was in the process of being consumed.'

what kinda thinker does this mean i am? and does anyone else think this way? i mean this was my answer right away, i didnt think about this, it just came out naturally.

NEITHER Any good engineer will tell you that the glass is exactly twice as large as required for the job at hand. Get a smaller glass.

I think you're making this question way too complicated. So, I'd say you like to over analyze things. It's just a simple question about how you perceive things, negatively or positively. It's cheating to know how the glass of water became half full or half empty cause that's not the point. Just ask yourself, how does the glass look, not why does it look that way. Ok? I personally, see the glass half full. I think about what is there in the glass, not about what used to be in the glass. Get it?

It means you're a pessemistic thinker with an over-reacting tendency to overindulge yourself with unneeded questions & answers. Simplicity is an intellectual talent all in itself- try saying next time that the glass is half full, because you can always find another jug of water to replenish it- that'll make you an asset to society because you'd be resourceful and optimistic. People who need a reason to see the good in life are usually the ones that are just sitting around waiting for someone else to fill their glass of water.

That is a different way of looking at it, to which I would agree with you. But if you just randomly see a glass on the table with liquid in it, that you have neither drank from or poured into, what would you say? I'll admit...I'm a pessimist, I'd say that it was half empty.

I'd say you're logical, on the brainy/bookish side, and perhaps a tad careful in what you do.absolutely nothing wrong with that it's your truth. there is no wrong answer to that question by the way. i would've said its half full, I'm a hopeless dreamer, head in the clouds always happy kinda guy, so that would be my truth.

It means you are a realist rather than an optimist or pessimist.

Now, did you visualize the glass when the question was asked? If so, what kind of glass did you visualize?

The interpretation of your answer is that you see life as a roller coaster with ups and downs your straight laced and always slightly optimistic ...You apparently take everything literally...but doing so prevents you from seeing analogies

I try to look at it half full. As I get older I try to have a more positive outlook on life and expect more for myself.
