All guys are like that because the are visually stimulated.
Be glad that you aren't blooming as a teenager. I didn't - I bloomed closer to my mid-late twenties. I felt kind of bad for all of the pretty popular girls because when we got to college most couldn't compete at anything. And when we were done with college - most of them didn't have a career and again couldn't compete. Ha but sad too.
Revenge of the Nerds: There are a lot more of us than the beautiful people. And that it true.
When you are young all you are thinking about is Love and sex. Well, I am in my 30s now - and Love and sex are not what life is all about - it's only a facet. Life is about experiences and learning and growing and accomplishment. You only have 80 years on the planet. Do you really think that you want to find the love of your life at 15-20-25 and settle down? Do you think the guys do??? HECK NO!!!
I know right now it doesn't seem fair. But it will be. I have found that people who know things, that have done things (like travel, golf, fencing, sailing), and that have a life have more sex appeal. It's because they something to say and can say it with confidence. Those that stay in the high school mental become gross when they get older and start defining themselves through conquest. Then after that, they end up impotent. Why do you think there's so much male enhancement/impotence medicine in the market now? The men can't keep up with their idea of eye candy. Ha again, but sad limpy-poo.

Most guys are that way because they are petty and superficial. Truth be told looks are far from the most important thing when dating someone. In my opinion looks just serve as an initial attractor in settings where a person's personality doesn't really get a chance to show. It is a person's personality and how it melds with yours that helps to form a good relationship not their looks.
On the other hand if you aren't looking for a relationship then looks are sometimes all that matters such as meeting people at a club or bar where it is rare that you will actually see their true personality due to the setting and alcohol.
There really is no way to totally escape the pressure that is placed on being "hot" but there are just as many guys out there that don't base their selection of women purely upon looks as those that do.

Teen boys are particularly shallow in this sense, and many of them will maintain that shallow nature all of their lives. However a lot of guys will eventually mature and learn to look beyond the superficial. Typically this happens because as they get to know themselves better they realize that they aren't perfect either and thus they give up the notion of finding a 'goddess' to look for a woman they can have fun with and relate to instead.
Moreover, there is a popular notion amongst guys in their 20s that really hot women are invariably insane. Of course this isn't a scientific assessment by any means, but there does seem to be a phenomenon where some attractive people are allowed to get away with ridiculous and immature behavior and thus never develop any character.
So, yeah, a lot of guys are shallow jerks. However, take heart, your odds of finding a decent guy will get better in your 20s. Maybe not a lot better, but better nonetheless.

Because men used to be hunters so the ones who relied primarily on their visual sense were the most sucessful, ate the most and bred the most. Thus most men are primarily visually stimulated.
This doesn't mean that all hope is lost if you're not the most attractive woman out there. It just means you have to rely on interests, brains, personality, etc... Really, it makes things easier since you only get attention from guys who are genuinely interested in YOU, not how well you fill a sweater.

You are right that that is what most young people think about. But it is up to you whether you allow other people's shallowness and immaturity to bother you. Why would you want the attention of someone so silly as to think that a "hot" body makes a good person. I hate to tell you, but you have little choice but to wait till those guys grow up. So in the meantime, don't let their opinions have any importance to you. It isn't a rejection of you, it is just a sad reflection of them.

perhaps i'm being biased because i'm a lady, yet i imagine adult males have it a lot less stressful than ladies. not purely can we get sessions, yet ladies create unnecessary drama. even as adult males have actual fights that are executed and over with in a couple of minutes, ladies have verbal fights that ought to very last for days. As someone suggested beforehand, if a guy has sex with a lady and receives her pregnant, he can walk away and overlook about the completed project even as the lady is left carrying a toddler for 9 months it really is glaring to all and distinctive. ladies problem more suitable about appearances and how they look to both adult males and females. adult males? not a lot. then you definitely get into the concern about relationships... I even ought to say teenage ladies have it harder in extreme college, yet i'm now unlikely to say that adult males don't have it difficult both. all and distinctive has difficult circumstances in extreme college. i don't recognize what's it favor to be a guy because like I suggested, i'm a lady, yet i imagine ladies have it harder than adult males.

Everyone likes someone for their looks Sugar, it's just a matter of what they're seeing. When I see a large guy I don't see a fat bast***, I was pretty big myself for quite some time and thought even though I was unhealthy I had some nice curves. When I see a big guy I see what being that big can do to your life. I wasn't able to run around outside- have a good and active life like I wanted to. My dad was pretty big himself and I remember having his doctors say he could die from a heart attack any day- My dad could die tomorrow- that sucks to hear. I remember how much we used to go camping or kayaking, and I rememer how he got too big to go do those things with me anymore. His weight stole him from my life for a long time, and when I see someone else like that I see how they could be taken that way from me if I let them into my heart.
You have to understand that while you're a teenager it's all about looks for some really ugly selfish reasons, but there are other issues that arise from the same causes.
Right now don't worry about getting a guy Sweety, they're not worth any woman's time unless she's first earned their respect and her own (and not the kiss butt kind Honey, the kind that says "wow, she's really got her head in the right place" and you should say "hey, I'm worth more than the space I take up. Actually, I'm pretty cool.").
You won't get that kind of love from a boy right now, you'll get it later when the boys you're around mature enough to understand the depthof something like that. It takes a real man to feel that for anyone, and boys don't become men till at least 20 something years old. At LEAST.
Focus on getting healthy and feeling beautiful. You don't have to match the standard of physical beauty to feel beautiful. You can excel in your studies, excel in your hobbies. Have some passion for your own life, and let your parent's give you the love you desearve. Let them into your thoughts, and ask them to help you make yourself into the outstanding woman both they and I know you can be.
Boys are great fun, and when you're a grown woman the right man (not boy Sweetheart, a MAN- and only when you're a WOMAN, not a girl) can help you complete yourself in ways you shouldn't really be thinking about right now.
Let them alone and work on the friendships and relations that can help you grow.
That doesn't mean a boy can't be your friend- even one of your best friends, just resist the urge to be drawn into heavy romantic stuff. It's good to work out how to connect to people on a level that's deeper than friendship but the other stuff is dumb and a little pointless right now.
A strong single woman doesn't really believe she needs a man to complete herself, she has faith in her own abilities because they've been tested and proven to her through the things she does.
She knows she can stand alone in the world but she also knows she doesn't have to because there are so many people that care for her (and she for them) that she'll never actually be all by herself. She may walk in her life by herself sometimes but she always has support, and others have hers...but then one day she meets a man that makes her think differently about her future, a man that doesn't take for granted the kind of hard work she's done to prove herself strong in the world. That man should be just as strong as her, she respects him in the same way he respects her. They value one another's opinions.
After some time, and long periods of dating is good- you'll want time to see him in the world and he'll want time to see you in the same way- you might decide to change your plans, or go forward with a goal you set a long time ago.
Anyways when that time comes you'll cross that bridge, but just understand it is coming. It's just really far away.
Meantime go be something amazing okay Sugar?
And Don't worry, you will be amazing just as long as you work hard in everything you do.
All my Heart and Love to you Gorgeous, and Good Luck.

C'mon, it's not like you'd date a guy who's ugly. Would you? I mean, yes you could, but really, are you that serious with the guy that you're going to waste your teenage life [in which you're supposed to have fun] with some ugly guy? I wouldn't.

For the same reasons that girls like money, fame, popularity, nice cars/stuff, and good looks on their men...they are just as shallow as the guys.
