My husband already informed me that I wouldn't have one had I not been drinking in the first place.

The absolute best remedy for a hangover is to not get sober again. Drink a bottle of Jack Daniel's, and that hangover is history.

But if constant inebriation is not an option due to 'work' or other annoyances, I have found that high fat or high starch foods help immensely.

It also seems to depend on what beverages caused the hangover. Beer hangovers seem to benefit from pasta, especially with lots of salt. Ramen noodles/soup, Alphagetti, or any of the various Chef Boy-r-dee products may help you out.

With rye, the hangover often seems to bring unusual stomach sensations, similar to cramps, and heavy food is not advised. I have found that a nice serving of KFC gravy (no fries or chicken, just the gravy) sometimes works wonders. Although people look at you weird if you buy just gravy and eat it with a spoon.

Vodka hangovers seem to be the most easily manageable for me. Usually plenty of water and some Ritz crackers help get me through the worst of it.

Hope this helps.

LOTS of water (hangover is primarily caused by dehydration) and an Advil or Tylenol. Some caffeinated coffee helps too.

P.S. In my drinking days, I avoided hangover by drinking a big glass of water in between each drink. I never got one hangover.
Feel better soon!

my older friend let me in on this remedy and you'd have to drink alot to get a hangover after this.
all you have to do is eat a banana, and take a few aspirins BEFORE you start drinking. also, alternate a drink with glass of water. your body uses water to neutralize the affects of alcohol in your liver and the rest of your system. the more water you have in your system, the faster the alcohol will be able to get through.

You should take ibuprofen and lots of water. At least that is what the Military teaches. The best cure I found though was to drink a little of the choice of poison you had the night before. Just a little though.

Well you husband is right. Drink a lot of water. The reason that you are hung over is because you are dehydrated.

a hangover is caused by dehidration so drink a ton of water~ unless you got drunk from wine, then water can make you drunk again.
