Washington State?
does anyone on here live in Spokane, Washington. I'm planning on moving there. Can anyone tell about how the population is, weather and how the environment in Spokane generally is like? Thank you.

Living here in Spokane is much better than a previous answer may have you believe. It has been my experience that the people you meet are generally very friendly. Like any larger city, there are some areas that are a little rough around the edges, but I'm not sure I would call Spokane a hotbed of crime.

It tends to be a rather conservative town. When state issues come up, we are usually outvoted by the more liberal Western Washington/Seattle area. (There has been a small, largely ineffectual, but consistent group advocating the separation of Washington into two states, splitting along the Cascade mountains, to give Spokane a greater voice than it currently seems to have.)

Spokane does not seem to be a town geared toward younger folks or singles. It is a very family-oriented community, and is a good place to raise kids. However, there is a small but growing music scene, and several very cool night-spots to go to.

There is quite a bit of outdoor recreation in the area. Skiing in the winter of course, hiking year-round, and a lot of lakes and rivers for boating in the summer.

Winters tend to be mild, and lately there have only been a few days where travel is tricky. Summers can get pretty hot (looking at being in the hundreds this weekend!) but are usually not as hot for as long as places to the south, and there is not much humidity which also helps. I've always thought of Spokane as being High-Desert country, although that is probably not what it would really be considered.

I enjoy living here, and would recommend it to most folks...

Hope this helps!

Spokane is a somewhat economicaly depressed city, population is ummm not too crowded, and the weather,, well it has really mild winters, and med to hot summers.

To be honest with you, i really hate spokane, the police here are anal and dumb about everything. The people here are well,, just be carefull where ever you go. Alot of crime, and bad neighborhoods.
just come and see for yourself.

I dont care what anyone says about the city, its pretty crappy, and its neighborhoods are pretty much falling apart, and the people here, NOT ALL, are really really weird, if not sociopathic
