Neither, God was here first. The rest doesn't matter.

People often ask, as an idle question, whether the process of evolution began with the chicken or the egg. Was there an egg out of which the first chicken came, or did a chicken lay the first egg? I am in a position to say that the first thing created was the egg.

"When god created all the creatures of the earth, He summoned all the embyoes into the Great Hall. As they gathered, he saw that it was good.

Before the Great Throne, he asked each and every creature what tool or change in their body did they want. Even the duckbilled platypus had a request. Many requested wings, some paws to dig with or teeth to chew with. The last remaining embryo was Man.

Man didn't want anything, just the brains and knowledge to use tools to dig, to fly, to figure out ways of doing things better. For Man's unselfishness, God granted Man dominions over the land, the animals and creatures of the air....after completing his tasks, God knocked off for the weekend....to rest up for the Monday to come..."

This question was asked before and the correct answer is still the egg! It is folk lure to believe this question has no answer that we know of, which was it's original intent.
The egg has to come before the chicken, which is a Bird Sub-Species. Another words there is nothing to suggest the chickens are prehistoric animals. Eggs are part of the reproduction process indicative to many animals including dinosaurs and thus predates chickens!

first, to Larry S who answered above me saying neither, god came first, **** you. thats no way to answer a simple question. if i asked you if you ate dinner before you ate breakfast this morning you'd probably say 'neither, god gave us fruit from the trees and vegetables from the ground' someone needs to slap you in the face for talking

back to the question at hand, i believe i recall hearing that the egg came first, and the chicken came later out of evolution. originally the chicken didnt look like the way it does today, it evolved, and along the way it layed eggs to reproduce itself, so technically, the egg came first before the chicken

but in all honesty, the 'chicken' came first, from evolving from sea water creatures that evolved and started walking on the land and then evolved into the egg laying type

The egg. It's known for it's low sexual prowess, so it came first. It was very inconsiderate and didn't help the chicken finish up.
