I have only read the first book, and it really makes me think.

Yes, I have read the the whole series. I have also seen the first two movies that where made about the series. I do not believe that the movies did the books justice though. I was amazed and almost petrified! No one can predict what the tribluation period will be like when the time arrives for it to come to pass. I have to say that for those books to be a work of fiction based on biblicial prophecy for the future, they seemed acurate for the imagination. I read half of the series within a week. I got hooked and couldn't put the books down. I even read the books online when they were not in the library to read. I think the books portray a pretty good picture of the tribluation period. It was enough to scare me back into reading my bible again. I wouldn't want to be left behind for something like that. I enjoyed the series and I have recommended it to friends to read. Tim LaHaye has a new series out for the left behind series. It is about the time period before they were left behind. I have not had the time to read those books though. I would suggest this series to anyone to read!!

I have gotten all the way through Glorious Appearing. Haven't read/listen to the 3 prequels. Alone one book might not be all that good but as a whole there (in my opinion) is nothing in fiction that is better. I put off reading it for years thinking it was too religious but I really got into them and went through 11 of the audiobooks in a month. It does make you think and reflect on your own life especially as believers or nonbelievers. They're gonna be a lot of people denying God all the way to Hell (just like in the book). If one went through all that those characters did I really can't see how one can not believe. Keep reading they get better. My favorite is the next to last one (Armageddon). Made me cry. I recommend those books to anyone I talk to about good books. Take care and Happy Reading.

I believe that all the major events in the series will take place as per Revelations.
But, I've studied the Bible when I went to Christian School. We had to do New Testament Survey. I got good grades and was pretty much a believer in the Pre-rapture. But, when I grew up, and read the same scriptures on my own, I just cant find how mainstream churches believe in a pre-rapture.

I believe, for now anyway, that when the end-times come, we will have to live through it or at least the first half of it.

That is the trick with a good book? no? to make you think or react - silly it would be to buy anymore for it would beg of you the same reaction - over and over? only good for the pockets of the writers.
Once should be enough
To another writer, another point of view, when you have many of many then you say about the LaHaye and Jenkins book, gosh darn it , these guys were good!
And go about making your own "view" on the subject....

I have read three of those books and I've enjoyed them. The first one blew me away, it was incredible. The other two. . .I'm not sure, but they were still good. It's because the other two became what I feared to find in these type of books: a 411 lecture and sermon on the benefits of Christianity. Not aht it's bad, but we go to church for that, to to read a book with them. Yeah, the other two had a lot more sermonness than the first one but they still are good. It's a pretty good series. Read on.

They start out really well, I thought, but as the series progresses ... it's hard to explain. All these little loopholes are "accidentally" created to help out the Christians, and things become less and less believable as they progress. I can't remember how far along I got before I stopped reading, but it was over the halfway point of the seven years. It was mainly the loophole bit that bothered me, but I can't really explain why.

Very eye-opening and interesting. I've read and own about 30 of those books; personally I think they're better than the 'adult' versions. U kno the really LARGE books? well, keep at those; very good reading!

I liked the first one, but I only managed to get through half of Tribulation Force. Honestly, it began to bore me a little bit. And parts of it are not Biblically accurate.

Yes - I've read them all. They are great works of fiction. They are NOT gospel! For the information of what the Bible says on this subject see the reference below.

I think it is really important to remember that they are only STORIES. Too many people are taking them too seriously, that's a major factor for the current state of the nation...
