You sound like a very creative person who is honest about who she is instead of those mamby pamby women who pretend to be ultra feminine when they are not. Celebrate who you are and build on it. No one needs a category. We are all unique.

As many others have said, don't worry about labels. You are an individual and that is what will attract others to you. Be comfortable being your most honest self. You do not sound like a "cross dresser" or a "bull dyke" or a "butch" or a "fem" and I am 44 and I have never heard the term " manishy woman" . If you want a word or label to help you feel you can describe yourself in a particular situation
it sounds as though you would fit in the "soft butch" area. Many women fluctuate in their mood, dress and behavior from day to day and don't want to lock themselves into one category and some prefer to choose a main category IE " fem" but that is a mind set not necessarily a form of dress or a particular behavior. A good place to learn more is on the groups and chat section of www.lesbianation.com - they use two great terms for those who don't identify as either butch or fem
" tweeners" and "nolabels". I haven't been to the site in a while but wouldn't hurt to check it out. Also they have a good discussion and groups section on www.planetout.com

I wouldn't worry too much, just be yourself, wear whatever you feel confortable with. When I just came out and all throughout college, I didn't like girls' clothes as well. I would dress with whatever I liked. People would actually ask me "what I was" (people will always try to label you)...they would ask me if I was a "raver," a "punk," a "skater," a "hippie," etc...it was funny. I would just wear what I felt like wearing that day, and it ended up being a combo of different styles. Now I dress normal, since I have a job and now I'm a "grown up" LOL...but my point is, enjoy who you are, enjoy your youth, wear whatever you feel confortable in....don't care about what other people think, they will always have something to talk about anyway. You'll be young only once!!! :)
Good luck.

You would be labeled as a butch lesbian = a lesbian who dress more like a guy then a girl, but like the other responses there's no need to label yourself. Being yourself is good enough already.

U would probably fit into the soft "stud" category if u wanted to be labled. I am an Agressive a.k.a. stud aka dom to the str8 world i am a butch or serious dyke. all depends on how u dress plus carry urself. i dress like a man and act like one, people always think i am a man at first glance. and i only like fems

Labels are stupid and inaccurate for 99% of any population. But they are useful and help us feel not so alone, like we belong to a group. You sound sorta butch, take that label, but don't change yourself to fit it. I'm sure you are a lot of other things as well: lesbian, daughter, friend, creative, whatever your job is, whatever music you listen to... they make up YOU. Use labels to gain access to groups, feel close, and help others understand things about you.

I'd say you were the type of lesbian who actually doesn't label herself, and that is altogether beautiful and sexy. Who says you have to be a certain type of lesbian? Tell 'em where to go, sweetie. Do, dress and feel whatever makes you comfortable and is a true reflection of yourself!

you shouldn't feel the need to categorise yourself. You are an individual. An interesting and sensitive individual that deserves better than having a label that society places upon you.

You're probably transgendered to some extent.
So you're probably a lesbian who likes to cross dress. No big deal, enjoy, life's to short to worry about it.
