I had the same situation with my two boys, everybody told me to shave them, and I didn't. They have beautiful hair, my first is blond and he has different shades of blond hair (like highlights), My second has a beautiful brunette curly hair. so I would recommend not to shave her head, wait and see, she will have a beautiful hair in no time.

I have three girls and all of them had hair loss. Especially in the back of their head. My first daughter lost all her hair at 6 weeks and it didn't grow back until she was a year old. My second went bald just on the top when she was a month or so. She looked like a bald old man. It grew back at about six months. My 4 month old is bald in the back from laying on the back of her head. Her hair is growing fast, but not enough to catch up. I think it is okay for a baby to lose her hair. If it doesn't start to grow within a few months, then I would call the doctor, just to make sure. It may take a while, but I'm sure her hair will grow!!

It happens! The hair they are born with is not the hair that stays with them. The fine, soft hair falls out and thicker, stronger hair comes in, sometimes in a different color. Don't freak out and DO NOT shave your baby's head! If the father and the grandmother are that insecure about bald babies then I'd tell them to shave their own heads and leave the baby alone.

it is normal for babies to lose a lot of the hair they are born with. just make sure you are keeping their scalp clean and do use a very soft baby brush to stimulate the scalp on a daily basis. this helps prevent cradle cap and will also keep the natural oils in balance which in turn promotes healthy hair growth. i would definitely not shave her head...you could nick her scalp. even if she doesn't have a lot of hair in a year or so don't worry. my 2 year old didn't start getting hair until she was about 18 months and it then just seemed to explode. i'm now able to do anything i want with it.

Almost every baby ever born with hair has lost it. It's completely normal. And I wouldn't shave you baby's head. Imagine running a razor or electric clipper along that soft baby skin and still forming skull. It just doesn't sound like a good idea at all. I'm almost 100% certain your doctor would not recommend shaving baby's head.

If it is the hair she was born with then don't worry. That is normal and it is supposed to happen. Don't shave her head, it will grow back evenly, even if it does not all fall out. The body is a wonderful machine that knows just where things belong!

It's normal for babies hair to fall out within their first 6 moths of life. Believe me my daughter went bald at 2 months and grew all her hair back in at 8 months. It's fine so don't worry about it unless it doesn't start growing back in.

my daughters hair has been falling out since she was 2 weeks. she is now 5 months and it is starting to come back in again.
My hubby wants to shave her head too. it is not necessary. Although hispanics shave their babies head to make the hair grow in thicker. at least that is what i have been told why.
