I mean, come on. God did NOT make people gay. If he did then he wouldn't of created a man and a woman, we would all be the same sex. It's a choice gay people make. It clearly states in 1 and 2 Kings that God casted out the sodomites. And what about the scripture that says, "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

God did not make us that way. He did, however, give us a free will. What people choose is their decision.

Now that makes alot of sense. Why didn't I think of that. NOT!

Why are you comparing us to animals? That's right down ignorant. Doesn't make one bit of sense.

Good for you for not buying into "gay people are born that way". They are not. They are just sexual deviants that want to pass anal sex as a cultural achievement

Wow -- a true fundamentalist. Deliberately ignorant and incapable of understanding arguments that don't agree with her. Just stunningly blatant. Thank you for the question.

I believe what the Bible says about homosexuality exactly as much as I believe what it says about planting seed together and about wearing clothing of mixed fabric [Leviticus 19:19]. I accept that the Bible is correct about being gay in exactly the same way that I accept what it says about committing genocide in god's name [Joshua 10:40-42 and Joshua 11: 18-23]; about god accepting a human sacrifice [Judges 11:30-39]; about a successful land sacrifice (looking EXACTLY like the land sacrifices being offered by other pagan kingdoms) [II Samuel 21] and about god causing cannibalism among the people [Deuteronomy 28: 53-59].

The Bible is a book full of historical errors [We now know that Jericho was abandoned for hundreds of years before the story of its seizure by the Israelites, additionally, we know that it was NEVER walled. The battle of Jericho never took place therefore], biological errors [Leviticus 11: 21-23 -- locusts have six feet of course], and mathematical errors [Numbers 3:16-39 -- add them up yourself, 300 more than the Bible totals the numbers to].

So the short answer is no, I don't believe what the Bible says -- about homosexuality or anything else. The earth does not sit on pillars [I Samuel 2:8] nor is it established atop the waters [Psalms 24:1-2]. It does not have corners [Isaiah 11:12], nor do there exist treasuries of the air -- though that is not an uncommon thought in the days that the bible was written [Psalm 135:7].

The Bible has little to do with historical Christianity (the canon of books was not established until after the Council of Nicea and not finalized until the Council of Carthage). Christianity is all about following Christ, not about following a book. Do I think that you will allow yourself to even finish reading this, say nothing of looking up the verses or even trying to understand what I am saying? No of course not -- too much danger there. But hope springs eternal, you don't have to be ignorant, that truly is a choice.

Kind regards,

Well for a start there is no god - but I'll play along.

So what you're saying is that people choose to be gay (I assume this is what you're saying unless you think someone else made them gay) Aside from the fact it being a choice makes no sense considering that you face being disowned by your family, verbally and physically abused by total strangers or even killed. This in turn implies that everyone feels sexual attraction to both men and women but opts to go for the opposite sex. You might want to consider that you are bi-sexual as personally speaking - I have no desire to sleep with someone of the same sex and never have.

So we're on to bible quotes. Why do you believe one part is literal and not the rest? Do you think we should kill all homosexuals perhaps? Leviticus 20:13 How about killing bratty kids? 2 Kings 2:23-24 . Leviticus is full of crazy nonsense but you ignore all that don't you?

If I'm enlightened enough to say live and let live why isn't your god?

First, nobody said God made people gay. God made all people, including gay people. And as for all one sex, why aren't we all one species? We could all be dogs or cows or ants. Your question is so filled with bias it is pitiful that someone has brain washed you this way.

If you read the story of the Sodomites, their sin was one of not being hospitable to guests. They treated the two angels, disguised as travelers, the way you treat gay people. Only they took it a step further, and went for gang rape. Gang rape is not a sexual act, and therefore not a homosexual act. Gang rape is a plain out act of violence.

The rest of the scripture you quote in bits and pieces comes from the purity codes found in Leviticus. It also says that you shall not wear a garment made from two different fibers, you may not grow two crops in the same field, you can't eat meat two days after it was killed, and a lot of other stuff. If a married man dies before he has sons, his brother must impregnate his wife so that he will have sons? Come on. Which pieces of this do you choose to obey and which do you throw away. And when you make that choice can you honestly say you made it with love?

After all, in the New Testament, Christ tells us that the law (meaning Leviticus et al) is not the law anymore. You are a New Creation. The one law you must obey is to love your lord God, and love your niehbor as yourself.

I don't wish you death or blood upon you. I only wish you a few hours to read and pray with out prejudice or hatred.

I agree with Tammidee10's answer. Kudos Tammi Dee. It's simply put.

When you found out you were Straight at a very early age of your life by looking at the opposite sex and having crushes on certain people of that gender, the same thing was happening to Gay people. They were looking at people of their own gender and having crushes on them. There wasn't a learned choice being made at that time byut rather both the Straight and Gay kids acting out the feelings of attraction that they "naturally" felt. So it can be said that God had a hand in developing their instincts, just as God had a hand at the creation of the formation and birth process of a human being.

So again, quoting Tammidee10, "Just what part don't you understand?"

They say it because it's true. God made me, and God doesn't make junk! Do you have another human being factory on your street? Thus God is the source.

God unfortunately also makes hate-spewing hypocritical 'christians' who spread bigotry, discrimination, homophobia and therefore violence against gay people. How can you call yourself a 'christian' when all of these actions completely go against all of your teachings?
Oh, but wait a second - hatred and bigotry, that actually IS a choice. So that's different.

Why not try justice, peace, tolerance, love and understanding for a change? WWJD?

You can't believe everything in the bible. It has been rewritten over and over again for 2000 years. Do you think it's actually still the word of God? Throw in a bunch of conservative minded clergy over the years and you're left with todays prejudiced bible. Prejudiced against women, race and sexuality. Hmmmmmm.

Being gay is not a choice. Do you think someone would choose a life of ridicule, prejudice and hate. God loves everyone who believes in him. Gay or Straight.

I am 53, married, heterosexual and attracted to young, verile, good looking men. If, however, I pursued a life of climbing in bed with all of them that I possibly could and blamed it on God, I would be making a statement that is equally absurd. As would a child molester who said he was born attracted to children, etc. etc. The Bible promotes self-control in all things. We are all born sinful (with a tendancy toward sin) but people need to get a grip on their actions or they will have to be destroyed so that those who do want to do what is right can be happy and live peacefully forever.

grow up. why do hatemongers and homophobes try to bastardize Jesus to make their rhetoric acceptable, and you always forget judge not lest thou shall be judged, and by the way it also says eating shellfish is an abomination so if you've ever been to red lobster you're going to hell. just so you know God made everyone and every species on Earth and homosexuality occurs NATURALLY in all of them. fact!!! do some research. everything else in the bible was erased by Jesus's word and all he said was to love and be good to each other, so i hope you have a blessed day and may Jesus shine the light of truth into the darkness of your lost soul.

The question you have asked actually gets asked many times a day. Just do a Google search "God made gay people". Know one really knows what God did and did not do, so how about just living and enjoying life. Can't we all just get along?

*sigh*...I'm assuming that I'm extremely bored to be responding to this half-witting pile of bs.
I'm a Christian, I believe in God, and I believe that we are all created BY GOD to be who we become. God has his reasons for making each person different, whether he makes us gay, straight, white, black, green, etc.
I'm exhausted by the pathetic rhetoric that spews forth from so called "true Christians." Don't you understand that the Bible was written as a point of REFERENCE? It's STORIES (you know, fictional works used to teach or entertain?) handed down by word of mouth for hundreds of years before ever being written by hand. It was also written in a dead language, and has to be translated using "guesstimations" of each word. No one knows if the Bible is an exact translation or not..
And remember...the King James version which is so widely accepted, was a translation authorized by King James, edited to suit his needs as a monarch, and to establish his authority within the church and his country.
Maybe you need a lesson in love, honor, and humility, because it sounds as if you really think you are better than we are...but sad to say, I feel miles above you, because I've accepted God's Word to love and cherish my fellow man, and to "judge not, lest ye be judged" because only God has the power to judge and condemn any man or woman's actions....hmmm, maybe you are on a power trip...do you think you are God?
