Some people side with bullies because they are afraid they will be the next target. It's best to NOT side with bullies. Basically, bullies are cowards and have to have their little support system going on.

No, you're right -- most people do side with the bullies, and the reason that they do boils down to peer pressure. Very few people are strong enough to stand up against a bully because not only do they risk getting beat up, they also risk losing face in the eyes of their friends. Better to be in the crowd doing the picking than being picked on.

Because alot of people dont know who they are according to the bible and they want to be accepted by the popular forks, people they hang with most of the time they end up being kick out of school and not being popular, or in jail or killed. Bullies are not as tuff as they seem when you caught them alone

Because people are cowards and want to be "popular". They are afraid that if they stand up to the bully, they'll get hurt, or at least humiliated.

good question reminds me of the israeli american british/ palestinian conflict. that is very easy. the bullies and their croneys are afraid of the bullies. so there for they know they are to weak to beat the bully so they join the bully. you know how they if u can't beat them join them. this is the mentality of a croney.

Maybe they are scared or they don't realize the full situation or see it from both sides. Maybe it's for their own benefit.
