I work in Recruitment at a College. I do enjoy it - it can get very challenging but it is ok for now. Ideally, I would like to teach. Maybe one day I will do that!

I work in a university doing administrative stuff. I like it, but I don't love it. I've done everything possible to stay away from a 9-5 kind of job because I need flexibility in my life, even though that has been hard financially at times. Now I'm still in a day job position, but I have a lot of autonomy and nice co-workers. I am changing directions this fall, however, when I go back to school for a PhD. I've worked hard to steer my career in this direction, so I'm very happy! Even the crappy 9-5 jobs have been in academic institutions, so I look back on them as learning experiences.

I teach science in college and a local high school. It has its good points, but I'm getting burned-out. I continue to do it because it is convenient in a lot of ways, and definitely provides "job security". But, I might consider a change if I could relocate to somewhere out farther to the west (like NM, or CO). What's stopping me? I have a wife who would have puppies if I tried to move her away from all of her friends--I only have a couple, so it's no big deal to me.

I was in retail and I could not take it anymore. Some customers could be very nasty, others were nice. But when you factor in working weekends, holidays, and what happens when your company gets bought out or there is a natural disaster and no retailers plan to rebuild in your area, what do you do?!

So I went back to school and I am currently working on my BA in history, which I hope to graduate next spring. If I am lucky I hope to get hired by the State Department, if not then I will return to school to get my teaching certificate and teach either high school or junior college history.
