it's a society based on anti-intellectualism. people figure that they're fine as long as their skin is perfectly orange, their hair is bleached blonde, their nails are manicured, and they weigh as much as a stick. Men just like to know their sports teams instead of what's really going on in the world. They take pride in not being educated and not knowing a whole lot, and the news here is also based on what's entertaining more than what's really going on. I live here, and it definitely sucks to be around these morons who refuse to educate themselves. It's not among their priorities.

Profiling a nation as ignorant, gang, etc is a new terminology that has been gifted by the Neo-Cons. Americans are cool indeed. I think most Arab states look paralyzed now.

This is too open-ended a question. And I think that when you insult a nationality you should have to give your nationality.
But to answer your question simply and briefly, it's primarily the fault of our public education system. It doesn't work at all, not a bit. It's churning out people who know nothing yet, somehow, think they know everything.
