The check gas cap message began flashing on a Honday Odyssey - 05. I put more gas in, made sure the cap was tight and it still didn't go off. I have filled the car a number of times and have driven 100's of miles and it is still blinking with the same message.

Anyone know about this issue?

most newer vehicles will do this, first off you did the correct thing by tightning it. but the code hasn't gone away, disconnect the battery for like 30 sec. and it should erase the code

Seeing as the car is a 2005 model, it is most likely still covered under the emissions part of the warranty. Take it to the Honda dealer and have it checked!

I had a similar problem with my car. Once the problem was fixed, the computer had to be reset. It can be done at a shop in like 2 minutes and will only cost you a couple of bucks but the annoyance going away was worth it for me!

Your gas cap is probably clogged (the air vents) or perhaps defective. Check with your Honda dealer. There may be a service bulletin on it, and they may fix it for free.

Usually that means your gas door is opened not your cap
