I cant find any estimates on trane's website...they all say to contact a dealer which to me means $$$ expensive. Just wondering if anyone has done this recently and might have an estimate.

Are you talking a unit for a central h/a system? If you're just talking about the AC unit, a 3 ton unit (which would cool around 1200-1500 square feet) would cost you about $1700-2000 (non heat pump). IF you're going to replace the inside unit (blower and/or furnace), it would probably run an additional $1200.

Depending on the size of the unit, I'd guess it will cost between $500 and $800 to replace.

3 ton system used to be 2800.00 to 3200.00 installed.with copper and aluminum prices at historic highs, add 500.00.for an older mobile home,a Goodman unit would be fine.If you are going to live there for a few years, look at a Lennox or Ruud.
