My family is doing the disney dining plan in September. The dining plan includes 1 Table service meal per day and 1 Counter service meal. I was looking online and the restaurants are not labeled as "table service" or "counter service". I am trying to plan where we will eat so that we can reserve where needs to be reserved but im ot sure which ones qualify? Im confused.

This is the MOST helpful site for planning where to dine at Walt Disney World...

http://allearsnet.com/din/dining.htm

If you go to the menu there's a list of all the restaurants at WDW, and it says whether it's counter service, buffet, character meal, etc. and what meal they serve (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack.) There's also menus for all the restaurants, ehich is extremely helpful, and it gets you so excited to dine at Disney! There's restaurant reviews, too. And pictures of the restaurants.

I've included a link to a site that lists all of the restaurants at Disney and if they are a counter service, table service and if they offer snacks.

Basically, any sit-down meal is going to be a sit-down meal. This including restaurants where you can in the restauraunt and they come to your table, take your order, etc. A counter-service is where you go in and order your food from the counter. You can't make a reservation at these restaurants, you just walk in and order. Snacks are at several different areas, some areas have better ones than others.

As far as character meals, these are all table service meals. Some of them are signature meals, which means they will take two of your points. But, at this point you may have a hard time getting a seat.

As the other answer said, just be sure to make your reservations. I am assuming you go the free dining plan, but either way, they offerred free dining for September and restaurants are packed. A lot of places are sold out and if you go with no reservations and hope to get a seat, you would have to be really lucky.

I hope this helps! Have a great time in Disney!

The link below is to a pdf file that lists all of the resturants that are included in the Disney Dining Plan, as well as which meals are covered at each. (Counting the dinner shows, there are over 100 resturants included!)

You can get a much better deal with the meal plan if you use resources like "Menus from Around the World" (it's the second link below) to plan out how to use your meal credits - that way you can get more for your money. There are also some great tips for making the most of the plan at the Mousesavers link below.

We did this plan too, we will be there starting Aug 30 (see you there!) www.allears.net has a list, and the menus. They also have the 1-800 number to call Disney to make the resurvations for the sit down meals (otherwise, you will be calling long-distance). You need to make these resurvations ASAP, as the popular resturants fill up fast. We had to take a lunch spot at the 50's Prime Time Dinner, because they had no other openings. Good luck, and have fun

This is the best site I've found concerning Disney. Any time I have a question about something Disney, they have the answer! Follow the link, and scroll down the page about a third. There is a chart of participating restaurants, as well as links to the restaurant's menu.
