It isn't anywhere near half - by my count, 7 guys on their roster (out of 25) came through their farm system.
It doesn't get commented on because every team gets players from its minor league system. It would be like talking about the fact that the team plays 162 games per year, or that the players wear shoes when they're on the field. There isn't anything to talk about, because that's what every team does.

Because they do spend tons of money on their free agents!!! But yet they still don't seem to be able to win a World Series!!! Its funny how a team could have so much money to BUY "all-stars" to play for them but still can't get a championship. Just goes to show that big money is not gonna get you wins.
Ps. 2006 Playoffs Boston will clinch the East, White Sox = Central, Oakland for the West, and Detroit will take wildcard. Yankees Who? What?

The Yankees had the most success when they had mostly home grown talent. AROD, Randy Johnson, Gary Sheffield, Wright, Damon, Matsui and most of the rest of their pitching staff havent worked out. Jeter, Posada, Rivera and Cano seem to be the only real products of the Yankee farm system. They need more role players then superstars and have way too old of players.

not to mention they suck . the young farm players that is .. if you really think you can win with that line up(in NY), keep dreaming .. Those young players will have a hard time sleeping at night because the Worst fans in baseball will boo them when they are slumping ..
If that baseball team was in any other city .. they would be dominant .. but guess what .. they play in New York where their "fans" boo them ..they do NEED to pick up some key free agents .. Zito and make some trades for some veteran bats that can take the beating of The Worst Fans in Baseball ..
got it??

Its true they can get whatever guy they want from free agency but ur right they are winning with a lot of the guys from their farm system: Wang, Cano, Phillips, Cabrera, Crosby, and then they have the veterans in Jeter, Posada, Rivera. Nobody ever seems to notice that they are winning with these guys maybe if they go on to win the East, someone will actually notice

Because George Steinbrenner has more money than anyone else, look at the payrolls, the Yankees are number one at about 200 million, I think the next team is like 160 million.

it is a sticky challenge. money has broken up families and friends. You did no longer clarify alot in information. Does he pay off you? How long does it take for him to pay off or ask for additional funds? If it is a relentless think of, and you understand the money isn't being spent properly, than do no longer supply it. If he's genuinely a sturdy chum and you comprehend the region wherein he needs money. Than enable him understand that till he repays you back you will no longer lend out extra. Make it right into a freelance. possibly additionally initiate stating which you're short on money..that way he could desire to no longer think of of you for any help. purely you understand his techniques, plus if hes an in depth chum you may desire to be waiting to talk to him approximately it. sturdy success,tc

For someone who answered this above me.....All their talent is homegrown?!?!
Overpaid Johnny Damon to get him from Boston
Overpaid Gay-Rod to get him from Texas
Overpaid Giambi to get him from Oakland
Overpaid Sheffield to get him from Atlanta
Overpaid Matsui to get him from Japan
Overpaid Randy Johnson to get him from Arizona
Overpaid Mike Mussina to get him from Baltimore
Overpaid Jaret Wright to get him from Cleveland
Overpaid Pavano to get him from Florida
Other yankees NOT homegrown:

people just hate on the Yankees because they are the best. that is their only defense "oh they buy their team", that is bs, all their talent is home grown minus a couple players.
