How do actors on T.V. fall back straight?

fall back straight on the hard floor isn't painfull how is it done?

They use air mattresses and for sound they use a dummy heavy enough falling on a similar floor, this is all done after the scene is finish and ready for editing.

You don't see them hit the ground, do you? They probably have a pad back there to cushion their fall.
