You might want to look up gnostic texts. Samael means "God of the blind" He split the perfect creation of the goddess Sophia(wisdom) into matter and spirit (the fall) and sought to rule over it. Hence in gnostic texts, the judeo christian god is actually the devil, the one who messed it up, whereas lucifer (the lightbearer, like prometheus) slowly worked to renlighten humanity in order to reunite heaven and earth. Note. Gnostics do not worship the devil. They just switched the names and some of the histories around (or did they get it right?) Lillith, by the way, knew the unspeakable name of god, and used it to part the red sea pre-moses. Also, since she didn't eat from the fruit of the tree, she couldn't be held accountable for her actions, and therefore could not be called evil.

Samael and Lilith are part of the Judeo Christian tradition of demonology. According to one popular version of the story, they were fallen angels that became husband and wife, giving birth to Cain as well as wreaking general havoc. The story of Lilith especially is told in the Kabalistic text, the Zohar.

Lilith was one of the original 9 gods, created by the Creator in the beginning. When the original 9 gods were cast down, she was cast down into the form of a woman, and became Adam's first wife. Samael, was one of the first angels to rebel against the ruler of the heavens, even before Lucifer rebelled. When Lilith fled Adam, when he attempted to rape her when she refused his advances, she met up with Samael and they taught each other what they knew, including Samael's knowledge of Magic. Samael eventually left and fought with Lucifer against the Heavens, and was cast down into the Hell. Lilith on the other hand waited in the darkness, known as the land of Nod. She waited there and eventually Kaine was banished there and they met up and she taught him of magic, and eventually even fed him of her blood, but due to his curse, he was transformed into the first vampire. Lilith since then has appeared no where as has been assumed to have been banished by Kaine.

Samael is (depending upon which myth you're reading) either a dark archangel associated with the planet Mars, or else "Samael" is one name given to the Gnostic demiurge (the imperfect architecht of the physical cosmos). The word itself means "blind god," roughly translated. Samael the demiurge is the aborted offspring of Sophia, youngest of the holy Aeons, who spawned him from all her negative emotions such as fear and anger and despair. The Gnostics would tell you Samael is one of the worst of the Archons, or rulers of this world. Lillith was the first wife of Adam in the Genesis myth. She is frequently depicted as a demoness, but this is grossly unfair to her. She is the Dark Mother, whose fierceness was too much for the nascent creation, and thus she was forced into the realm of the collective shadow to be replaced by the more docile Eve. Essentially, the demonization of Lillith goes hand-in-hand with patriarchal legalistic religion. To say more would be too much.

Lilith is often believed to be the first wife of Adam in Judeo mythos. It is said that she was made of dirt, like Adam, and therefore believed herself to be equal to him. When he insisted she take the bottom, and submissive, sexual position she refused. Adam had her thrown out of Eden and God later made Eve out of Adam so she had to be submissive to him. It is thought that Lilith is also the mother to all monsters, that any child she had would warp and become twisted and evil because she refused to obey Adam.
