International terrorists think they can abolish the institutions of democracy and the free modern world. Blowing up infrastructure has not been proven to have any affect in the pass, except for more retaliation and more hatred towards terrorism. Why are terrorists so stupid? Haven't they figured out that bombs can't destroy the idea of freedom?
Why can't they realize the only way their "problems" will be solved is through diplomacy?

Maybe they believe that the world will eventually get tired of the blood being shed and just give in to them? If you take a close look at it, you'll find that people all over the world believe terrorists are justified in what they do. Even here in the US some people think we are getting what we deserve from terrorists. You're right though, they can't destroy the idea of freedom.

In all the buckets of media gabble about the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, not once have I heard any journalist ask any expert the simple question, "Why did the terrorists attack us?"
There is, of course, an implicit answer to the unasked question: It's because the terrorists are "evil"; they "hate democracy"; they are "fanatics," "barbarians" and "cowards." Those, of course, are answers that can satisfy only children. Some day it might actually dawn on someone in this country that the grown-up but unwelcome answer is that the terrorists attacked us because they were paying us back for what we started.
Let us hear no more about how the "terrorists" have "declared war on America." Any nation that allows a criminal chief executive to use its military power to slaughter civilians in unprovoked and legally unauthorized attacks for his own personal political purposes can expect whatever the "terrorists" dish out to it. If, as President Bush told us this week, we should make no distinction between those who harbor terrorists and those who commit terrorist acts, neither can any distinction be made between those who tolerate the murderous policies of a criminal in power and the criminal himself.
The blunt and quite ugly truth is that the United States has been at war for years – that it started the war in the name of "spreading democracy," "building nations," "waging peace," "stopping aggression," "enforcing human rights," and all the other pious lies that warmongers always invoke to mask the truth, and that it continued the war simply to save a crook from political ruin. What is new is merely that this week, for the first time, the war we started came home – and all of a sudden, Americans don't seem to care for it so much.So please become informed and dont ask such obvious questions

Terrorists are smart (and brainwashed)

They know they can't kill a country by dropping a few bombs. They want to take away our freedom

By making terrorism a big threat...gov'ts will place more strict laws on us...like in the airport! Sercurity is tight! They take away some of your stuff (even children's toys) if it's shaped like a hammer or is pointy.

Before you know it...you got so many laws that are claiming to protect our freedom while it is really limiting it.

Big Brother is watching you....sort of thing...

That's what they are after. Twisting our beliefs and freedom till it is corrupted.

US made "democracy" has also been established by means of terrorist acts and terrorism. Terrorists are just as idiots as the citizens of a civilized country who show support to a president that lied to them about weapons of mass destruction.

Terrorist bombs seem to be eroding US freedoms. Look at the way Americans are willing to trade away their Bill of Rights for the hope of a little security.

It is very important that we not give in to this hype of terrorism. Most of what is spun out to you is outright propaganda aimed at angering and frightening you so you are more easily controlled. They want us to believe that "terrorists" are mean, nasty, stupid muslim extreemists and the like. Terrorism has a lot to do with creating fear in the masses. Dont be fooled. GW is the biggest terrorist of all.

Terrorists aren't idiots. They're smart.

They got the world behind them right now, while only a few oppose them.

Look at how many americans support them.

Edit: Look a few posts down. This guy would support them but he wouldn't go over there because he'd get his head chopped off and he knows it.

Well you got to think- the trade tower incedent- by terrorists, was the start of a break up of american society. America is split and there are more and more people loosing faith in our government...all iniatiated by terrorists. I dont think they're stupid or that their goal is to abolish freedom, they just want to cause chaos and they have done exactly that.

its hard to talk to a guy with 50lb of c4 strapped to his abdomen. peace does not benefit terrorists. then they will have to get jobs, love their neighbor, pay taxes. they thrive on hopelessness and stupidity. ever seen a suicide bomber over 25? never. they convince kids to do their bidding before they can form a point of view. they are told the only way they can be a success or support their family is to die so Iran can send their mom a check. and they get the virgins.

1) They blow up something or kill innocent people with seemingly no recourse; but

2) Governments have to respond; the people demand it and it happens.

3) The terrorists are then the victims; they use the martyrdom syndrom to recruit and grow.

Vicious cycle
