Yes I downloaded what I thought was a software program and when I opened the file it was a virus that crashed my entire system and the computer wouldn't restart or work at all, luckily I have a computer geek in the family who just re-installed everything but I lost all my files from the last one, so yeah it's pretty dangerous stuff limewire, just be wary - You can also get some good files there though, it;s not put me off downloading.

Well. it's not exactly legal but it isin't really a violation if you use the software to download music, videos and such for personal use.It only turns illegal when you sell it. It's pretty safe but turn it off when your not downloading and try running it on windows 98 it runs better at least for me it does. If you want movies and software and stuff i suggest you use the torrent network, its a lot more reliable for larger files, but music limewires got the best network. Hope it helps.

It is legal if you don't use it...or if you download songs you already have, which is pretty much pointless. It will harm your computer too. Not only does it have spyware, but dumb people like to attach viruses onto songs and crap that you download from the program.
Get mIRC instead. It takes a bit to learn, but you can get full albums, full movies, there are no viruses and it cannot be monitored by the government.

Limewire is file sharing so there always a chance, im sure most people in here will say they love it, but you always run a chance with file sharing

It is not officially legal... you should really look for a site where they charge you a small fee for each one... even if it is 9 cents... it is something. Although if you are going to be downloading a lot... then get a membership to something like Napster...

It will harm some computers if you do not have the right software. But if you download it right then You will be perfectly okay!

O...m...g PLEASE if you have a crappy computer like mine, don't add hardware like that. I did and it gave me a virus!! thats my warning, if you ignore it you will suffer....
also, sometimes they have perverted crap on there. if you have kids, thats my other warning

ye wen i downloaded it the second time i got web hancer and alot of stuff along wit it but if its ur first or third time then no, depends wat u download, if u download wat guys love then ye u will get viruses but music files are usually clean, make sure u got a firewall.
