I am looking for a cheap fare from Jackson, MS to Augusta, GA and was wondering if anyone had used the Name your own Price feature from Priceline? Is it any good? Do they find tickets? If not, does anyone have any suggestions for cheap fares to there? (Train or Flight).

A friend uses it. Be prepared to fly the off hours...like first think in the morning or the last flight out at night. Connecting flights aren't too easy, but you can get around cheaper if you want to put up with the hassle.

We just went through a similar experience with our scheduling as well. Priceline can work but you are expected to pay the price you name up front and not knowing where the flight will come from and when it will be arriving is hard to plan. I just went online to each airline and compared prices until I found an acceptable price at the time we wanted to leave. Train can be cheaper but you have to estimate the time and see if it is worth it. Best wishes =)

I've used it a couple of times several years ago (probably the latest was in 2003) and it worked well, but since then it doesn't accept my price. The best deal I got was $400 a person to Japan a week before the flight when the rest of the quotes were about 2x that.

If it doesn't like your price, it now suggests a higher price which is usually really quite close to the listed prices.

Doubt they will you you any good. Doubt any major airline flies between those cities.

I used Priceline once, didn't get my price but I got a little better deal.

Good Luck
