Ok as a make up artist I can help.I d go for light colours on the hand and brighter colours on the toes.Toes look great in bright colours whilst on hands bright colors might make you a bit tarty (no offense its the same for most of the girls).Try some red on the toes and french manicure on the hand ie beige base, white tips or else a sweet pink or light brown with a touch of pearl

Nail polish does not have to match on your toes and hands...however, I do like the colors to compliment each other. What I mean by this is don't wear blue nail polish and red fingernail polish. It will clash horribly! However, having pink polish on your toes and say...a burgundy on your fingernails...would be ok!
Now that it's summer you can go for very bright colors of nail polish both on your hands and feet! In the winter I prefer more subdued tones.
I was told once that red nail polish looks great on shorter fingernails, while lighter tones should be used in longer fingernail lenghts.
I like to go crazy with my toe nail polish...bright colors...flower designs...but I tend to be more subdued with the polish on my hands.
OPI is still my favorite nail polish brand and they have the coolest shades!
If you want something more affordable...try wet and wild. The quality is still pretty good and for under a buck you can't go wrong. They also have very nice shades even if the selection is not big.
Good luck !

It would look good if your toes were lighter/darker than your finger nails, but I don't think there is a rule about it. Whatever you prefer. Have fun with it, be yourself. That's the best beauty advice.

No there is no "rule" on nail polish matching.
For the summer red is a great color..you can buy red in a ton of different shades.

I think there is no rule unless your going to a wedding or somewhere "nice" then they should match or be of the same color - like a shell and a pink color.

Not really. But I personally like to paint bright colors on my fingernails like hot pink, lime green, and dull and dark colors on my toenails like a deep red, black etc. I don't know why either, may be because it looks good that way. haha.

No, there's no rule. You can make them match, but that's bo-ring. I would at least put them in the same color family, or do one neutral. I paint my toenails red but just use a sheer, neutral pink on my fingers.

It woudl be nice if they complemented each other, like pink and purple or blue, but they don't have to be the same shade unless you are going someplace formal and wearing open-toed shoes. Other than that, go with what you like! :)

No, it doesn't matter. It might have been something in a beauty magazine or something that you read, but ultimately, pick whatever colors you want to!
