Wake up Little Susie was originally a hit for the Everly Brothers - it was a hit in October 1957 in America. It was written by a husband and wife team, Felice and Boudleaux Bryant, who wrote loads of songs you will have heard of, even though you have probably not heard of them!
It was also recorded by the Grateful Dead! And The Birdwatchers (who?), amongst others, as well as Simon and Garfunkel.

it was written by the husband and wife team of Felice and Boudleaux Bryant, who wrote most of The Everly Brothers songs in the '50s. Their songs were also recorded by Bob Dylan, Elvis, and Buddy Holly.

Well it is an Everley Brothers song. I always assumed it was written by Phil or Don Everly, However it was first recorded by them in the late fifties.
