Why do you want a live owl? Most zoos have owls that you can see for sure. Otherwise owls can be found in many wooded areas. There are also many wildlife Rehabilitation centers across the country. They often have owls there that they are caring for. You should not try to capture an owl though, they are wild animals and should be left that way.

Owls are everywhere- barns, fields, woods. They are nocturnal and are stealthy. I see owls mostly at dusk and dawn. I go to a farm area or wooded area and I sit and wait. If I hear their call I start to scan the horizon. They usually perch until they see some yummy rodent and then swish on it! This is a lot like bow hunting in that you sit very still and wait- These wonderful birds are worth it!
