Wikipedia.org is the most independent, objective and accurate source of news and information since everyone is biased. Therefore all sides are explored-left,right, and middle. If someone thinks it is wrong they can change it-unlike any other news organization.

If you want facts, then there is nothing I know of better than the World Almanac.
Much of what you read is hype, lies or semi-lies.
But nothing can dispute the FACTS.
Just one for instance:
Look up the population growth over the past five hundred years.
It stagnated during many of the the previous centuries, and took off over the past twenty years.
Imagine that!
Over six billion people on earth, and many don't care to help the planet out by doing what is needed to keep it going.
If only we could change a few things in our daily lives that would help the planet, we'd all be in better shape for it.
Go to the Almanac and look up anything you need to know.
You'll be amazed at how truth is better than fiction.

Whomever says that Fox news is either unbiased or leftist doesn't have his/her facts straight. Seriously, Fox news is slanted very far to the right. CNN and CBS are leftist. There is no such thing as unbiased news. Why? Because all news stations are owned by some corporate company that has its own interests in mind. How easy is it for ABC to report something negative about Disney, its parent company? I recently took a class on media coverage of the war in college (I am an undergrad), and our conservative professor told us to basically read as many various sources of news as possible. That means going to Fox News AND CNN/CBS. You can't rely on just one news source any more. You have to look at all of them and discern for yourself. Put the pieces together in your own mind. Don't just "trust" that it's unbiased.
P.S. - Anyone can edit Wikipedia. You can't trust that either. In college we're not allowed to list it as a source because any average person can edit it without having a clue if it's true or not. Don't believe me? Remember that guy who linked some other guy to Kennedy's death on Wikipedia as a joke?

lots of research. Every news source out there will have a bias, it was written by people, and all people have some bias. Now, mind you, some are worse than others. For example, Faux news reported for years that WMD had been found in Iraq and that direct ties to Al-Qaeda existed, both of which have been proven false.
I personally prefer NBC, but that is because I know their biases and can pick them out of the story fairly well. Jon Stewart is probably one of the least biased (or at least equally biased against) "news" anchors. He is at least willing to deride both sides for the BS that they try to get through.

Talking to non-journalists who have been at the scene of news stories. The media are not biased so much as they are incompetent. Their 6th Grade grammar and their ignorance of history prove that their education is worthless and they have no right to their jobs.

I always liked the Christian Science Monitor. They seem to be the most objective, and because they maintain thier own overseas bureaus, they report on stories other American media overlook.

It would be your own conclusion drawn from the many news sources available because everything has its own bias. It is our responsibility as media consumers to keep ourselves informed and discifer the truth from the many messages that we receive.
