Yes it hurts when they do the initial piercing. Generally it doesn't hurt much afterward UNLESS it gets irritated. Clothes brushing against it can be exremely painful and also hinder the healing process. If you wear clothes with a waistband (at the waist) like jeans or skirts, the material can rub against the piercing and cause it to rip or heal uneven. You're only 12? I would suggest waiting a few years before you consider having this done.

12?!?! Give me a break. If there is any place in Kokomo that would pierce a 12 year-old's belly button, even with parental consent, I would hope that they would be on their way to being shut down by the health department!

Yes, it hurts. They messed up on mine, went through a blood vessel, and it bleed so much I felt sick. After a year or so I took it out when my bf didn't like it. Now I have a scar that makes me feel insecure about my stomach. Think before you do this. You're only 12?!? Way too soon to mess up your beautiful skin with scars.

No it does not hurt that bad but i think you are too young for that you should wait until you are at least 16 don't harm your body, don't be in a hurry to grow up you are just beginning the most beautiful years of your life. Care for your body like a temple remember we only get one in this lifetime...take it from experience just wait then decide later, i did alot of things to my body that i now regret like piercings and tattoos.

It stings a bit, but it's not that bad. You'll be fascinated with it the whole day (at least I was!) And later, you just have to remember to take really good care of it so it doesn't become infected, because THAT is very painful.

You are punching a hole through flesh; it is certainly going to hurt....a lot more than ear piercing, for sure. Careful of infection!

honestly, i think it was my most painful piercing (also my first outside of the ear lobe). but it really wasnt that bad. and its really quick.
as for where to go, look in your phonebook for tattoo places, lots of them pierce too. you do know that you'll have to have your parent there with you right?

I will ultimately hurt your self-esteem. That's worse than momentary pain.
