I have been to Abuja for a week two years ago. I did see some people wearing traditional gown kind of things. Younger people liked more modern clothes... Other than that I did not like it too much there, I pretty much spend most of the time in the Hilton compound and the Golf course, the food made me sick and it was hot and humid (rain season I guess).... Msg me if you have any specific questions.

Yes people do wear traditional cloths in nigeria.
but its not a MUST. nigeria is at a period in the fashion industry were traditional fabiric are in.. so you'll get to see lots of HIP looking "Amkara, Woddin & Lace" outfits.
its a lovely place and the people are very warm, but just LIKE every other country on this continent, Nigeria has its down sides.
if you're coming to lagos, it best if you stay with a close realive cos that way you get the best of the country cos that person would be able to show you round.
Abuja, is the capital of Nigeria, hence were all the BIG "people" stay, mostly for business reasons.
Not a choice for a holiday.

I know that its a rather dangerous place to go, and that there a re a whole lot of scammers that send out emails from there, trying to trick people into sending them money. There are lots of other places in Africa that I would go before Nigeria.
