I am a finance major. The upper division coarses are fun when you get to deal in terms of thousands to millions of dollars, unfortunatly the courses you have to take to get there are kinda boring but it is well worth it.

If you ask anybody, finance is probably the most boring job out there (accounting also)...BUT the salary is good and you tend to move up the corporate ladder quite fast but its BORING...trust me..I've taken a few finance classes for my marketing major.

Its okay if you haven't declared your major yet in your second year. Usually nowadays, students still undecided until the third year but if you're in the 4 year-plan, make sure you declare by the end of your second year. On your first 2 yrs of college, you mostly need to take and finish your General Education anyways..So you're doing fine.

If you're interested in the business area, take the business intro class. The class will introduce you to the subcategories of business...such as Marketing, Manangement, Accounting, Leadership etc..... Or sometimes colleges/universities offers workshops to help figure out what you want to pursue.

If you really like Math, then finance or accounting would be really good area to consider....but i can honestly say that its not going to be a fun job (but you never know, you might actually like it).You can think about being a Math teacher or an engineering also. I would say concentrate on finishing college first.... study shows that a large percentage college students DON'T end up having a career based on the major they graduated in anyways.

So Goodluck! talk to your advisor/counselor if you need figuring things out.

If you like math, follow that. It will make long hours of studing easier.

If you are interested in Finance, get an internship with a bank or financial institution to get some experience and see if it is something you may want to do.

There is a crap load of money in finance if you are good -- easily 6 to 8 figures, but also long hours at times.

Math can also help you in physics, engineering, chemistry to name just a few.

Do some research, talk to your professors.

If you love math, get into a science, math or engineering field. We need more girls!! the pay is great! the work is fun! and there are opportunities for business and management in those fields as well. It's not too late to catch up on the classes you need to take for it, you're not the first who has waited a year.

I'm an engineer. It's what I do, not who I am. I leave at work. It's challenging and it pays well. Contrary to what some people say, you don't have to "love" your job; just like it. Find a career that meets your financial 'needs' and you'll have the means to pursue your 'wants.'

i would recommend some kind of business degree...since your girl and not going into something specific like nursing...i think that would be the best idea...hell i'm a guy and wish i would have gotten a business degree, but i got a degree in criminal justice and a minor in psychology and not using either!..luckily i got a great job bc i had a degree period!..so go with the business if u have no idea what u wanna do...

Find a career you like and can do forever. If you find a career you love, you'll never "work" a day in your life.
