You are so right on!
They do.
Satin is also very powerful and can have a hand in things.
But God is more powerful.and always has a reason for things.
I believe that God does not always CAUSE bad things to happen, but allows them to happen for a reason!

A lot of people like to blame God for everything that goes bad, but then again they are often following false religion or aren't really sold out about their faith in him and thier walk as Christians either. They go to church on Sunday and then go to strip club that same evening and get drunk. These people are not true Christians and should not even think about calling themselves one. I've heard people blame George Bush for Hurricane Katrina. Its just nature. God created nature and it was perfect, but then people betrayed his trust, and now there is suffering whether great or small in this world.
Thats not really anything though on the level of devestation. Think about this. Several million children in Africa will be orphaned by the death of their parents by 2010. That means in 4 years time millions upon millions of people will have died from that pandemic. The deaths even from terrorists, wars, and natural disasters will never add up to the deaths from a slow killer like HIV/AIDS.

Because God is in control of everything. You do believe that God is in control of everything right? That he sees everything and knows everything and can do ANYTHING right? Even if he didn't send one there himself, he could have stopped the hurricane right? Well its like a policeman standing and watching someone get mugged. He didn't do it, but you'd expect him to do something about him right? Same principle, except God is an all powerful all seeing cop that could stop every mugging everywhere. And every hurricane too, for that matter.

Because ultimately, God is the only one who is in control of the situation. People need to feel some sort of control, and anger is part of the grieving process when someone suffers a loss. If there is no one else to direct the anger at, people will blame God for what has gone wrong in their lives.

Everyone does not blame God for catastrophes but a great many people do. (I do not)
The people who do are unwilling to accept the fact that humans are capable of terrible things through action and inaction, which makes them capable of great and terrible things. Sadly people are so hopelessly blinded by their belief in God as controller of earth (not saying he doesn't exist) that they can not equate humans to the destructive force of the God that they have read about.

Because it is believed he controls the weather even the hurricanes that did do a lot of damage and killed a lot of people that had no way to get out.

I don't blame him. He gave us free will, free will to burn fossil fuels that warm the earth and cause such things as hurricane Katrina.

People don't want to admit that their actions were the main reason in which all those natural disasters were caused. Why blame themselves and change their luxurious lifestyles when they could say it was the Creator's fault?

well people give god credit for any number of ridiculous things, like sporting events, presidential elections, and acting awards; I guess the big man upstairs has to take the good with the bad
