From personal Experience, I have seen the native american culture being lost and giving away to greed. I also have seen Tribal members given outragous per-capita checks. I have seen the youth give up on dreams and say" why should i better my self I will get money for the rest of my life? I dont need to do nothing but party and pick up my check the first of every month. I think that Casinos have given native americans no hope and an easy life where they will never improve the life they live.

I wish people like you would speak up when these debates are public. Like whenever they are about to build another casino. Like when they are putting out those ads that claim they pay taxes and help the local economy and stuff like that. People think it is politically correct to go along with Indian propaganda about needing to be sovereign and needing casino money for the res. and contributing to society and all that. I've been suspicious from the beginning. We were taught in schools that reservations were like conservation parks are now for animals. By living on the res it is like hanging on to the past and all it entailed. By giving up sovereignty and casinos and all that this has been twisted into, and integrating into society, you get the same rights and responsibilities as every one else. But more importantly, you get the unity and satisfaction of being an American--of being like the rest of us.
