There is no real answer to this question but what I have learned of what love is to me and that is the word LOVE itself holds the answer.......
(L)isten: and validate them by hearing and empathizing.
(O)verlook: their minor character flaws as they will overlook yours.
(V)alue: who they are and what they mean to you.
(E)xpress: how you love them not just with words but with actions.

love is whatever you want it to be...it can be passion or companionship or maybe that certain someone who you have been friends with all your life.The key to love is having respect and trust for this person but also giving as well as receiving trust and respect.At the end of the day you will know when love is there and then only you can say you`ve found love.....Good luck.

Its whatever floats your boat.
Respect is key though. But you cant confuse the initial few weeks/months with love, it feels euphoric etc but I was in the same state when I passed my driving test and got my licence and there was not a hormone in sight then!

For me Love is a combination of respect, understanding, trust, forgivness and being open to one another. I cannot love sumone if either one is missing.
Maybe silly... but thats just me.

Love is all of those things you mentioned. And loe is out there for everyone you just have to open you're eyes...it might be there in front of you.
