I've labled some plastic tubs and other similar things with permanent marker. When I first did this, it would come off with comet. But now that it's been awhile, I can't seem to wash it off. Any tips?

Well, I tried the alcohal. Nothing. The nail polish remover started to fade it and made a stink. But didn't take it completely off. I'm broke and can't go up and get the other stuff to try today, but I will eventually. So I will put this to a vote. If you have actually used the other stuff to take permanent marker off hard plastic (the writing has to have been there awhile), please vote that product for best answer. Thanks for all your tips.

Don't say "no" until you've tried everything. My dog's Kennel/Carrier had their previous owner's name on it, in permanent ink. I took polish remover and the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and used them together. Came out perfectly clean. No "shadow" of the previous writing at all. And it dried quickly, so I could then use a permanent marker to put MY name on it!

Mr Clean Magic Eraser. I just used it to remove crayon from the inside of my sister's car.

Try white vinegar first. If that doesn't work,. try polish remover. It that doesn't work, they really meant "permanent"!

Good luck!
