I agree with the fellow who said It's A Wonderful Life (thank goodness it turns out OK in the end!) Cyrano De Bergerac and Midnight Cowboy both have very sad endings as does Far Away So Close (the sequel to Wings Of Desire, I think some twit has suggested the stupid Hollywood remake of Wings Of Desire, oh dear!). I thought Marty and unleashed were also tear jerkers, in a way. It's not a film but I've seen some episodes of the cartoon of Belle and Sebastian again recently and it had me howling!
