Is this sentence awkwardly phrased?

People can make me to feel badly, but they can't cause me to lose my faith.

Yes your sentence has two separate thoughts, separated by the word "But" the word but suggests that the second thought is in opposition to the 1st. It would be better to say "People can make me feel bad and that can cause me to lose my faith.

The BUT makes the second part of the phrase need a contrast, but both sides are CAN. You either need People can not make me feel bad but they can make me loose my faith. or People can make me feel bad but can not make me lose my faith.

It doesn't exactly make sense in its current format. "But" usually implies what follows is an exception to or a negation of what has gone before, in which case the second "can" should be "can't". Alternatively, you could replace "but" with "and". I'm not sure what you're trying to say.

Either "but" needs to be replaced by "and" or "can" needs to be replaced by "can't" . The sentence is not awkwardly phrased, it doesn't make sense as written.

Try this sentence:
People can make me feel bad about myself, but I cannot lose my faith. OR
People have a way to make me feel bad about myself. They cannot, however, make me lose faith.

Yes, It should say ....People have the ability to make me feel bad and to lose my faith.
Another thing....noone can make you lose your faith, you let it go yourself.
