I have been "bipolar" my entire 50 years...been to counselling therapy, taken more types of medicaton than I neither count nor remember, and NOTHING has truly "treated" my bipolar disorder. The so-called medications that had any actual affect on the disorder, would put me into another world (all my own), where I would be completely "out-of-touch" with the living and the world around me. Personally, I don't think that anyone has honestly developed a "medication" that helps much with a bipolar disorder...except for "opiates". You stay good and buzzed on opiates, that not only helps one feel better, but seems to "level-out" the complexities of the disorder. You may not think that is an answer...but I'm telling you, it helps...if you don't mind being an "opiate junky" for the remainder of your life. Exchange one evil for another. Which "evil" would you rather "live with"?

Try great plains laboratories. They have an 800 number on their website. Call them and talk to them. My cousin's daughter is autistic, and they have done wonders with her. Bipolar disorder can be related to food intolerances. I know it sounds farfetched, but if you would see the progress that her little girl has made, you would believe it. Autism, ADHD, ADD, depression, etc. are included in the list of maladies that can occur as a result of food intolerance. You don't have to commit to anything when you call....they will send you an information packet for free, and you can decide for yourself.
